More commonly known as Drones.

Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) have emerged as a useful tool for photography, videography, and mapping. Did you know that all RPAS over 250 grams are viewed by Transport Canada as aircraft, and thus are subject to the same rules and regulations as most traditional aircraft?



In this course you will cover the eight key areas of aviation required by drone pilots operating in Canada. Upon completion of this course each student will have gained the knowledge required for completion of the Transport Canada online exam for Advanced drone operators.

Never flown a drone? No problem. This course is designed for those with no prior knowledge of drones or aviation. By the end of the course you will be an expert in drone regulations in Canada and have a strong foundational understanding of the greater aviation community.

This Ground School program covers the foundational knowledge aeas, but with a specific focus on the new 2025 ammendments to RPAS regulations in Canada. We also cover in detail the requirements for RPAS operators looking to complete operations under the Level One Complex Operations certificate, which will permit pilots to complete low-risk BVLOS ( Beyond Visual Line-of-Sight) flights.
